I, like many photographers were out in force to capture these elusive West of Ireland sunsets. Because of a number of factors I was limited to an old haunt within a short drive. I really must try harder.
However this regular haunt never fails to satisify that old "photographers itch" - that compulsion we all get! You know the one - when you absolutely, positively, totally have to get out and shoot something - anything. We all get it and it's all the more pronounced here in the West because of the lack of photographic light - yes, it's overcast or raining lots of the time.
Anyway, indeed it was a beautiful week. The sun shone/shined. People smiled. The morning light woke me. The night skies were stunning - how I would love to capture them. I do hope you all viewed Jupiter and the Moon, so close to each other during the week.
I shot this at Beltra Lough during this week. As it was getting dark, I opted for a long exposure photograph. The fishermen had gone home after a successful day out on the water. The sun had set below the horizon but still cast some beautiful ethereal light over the evening sky.
