I have a long term project on the go. It’s called Humans of Mayo and is based on the well-known Humans of New York. I have a website – www.humansofmayo.com and a Facebook page. Do pop over there, have a read, share our stories and don’t forget to hit the LIKE button to follow along. If you’d like to be a Human of Mayo, drop me a line.

“So, if you wanted to know about me, I suppose really you couldn’t have caught me at a better time, Because I’m more me now than I ever was. I can’t mention my life without mentioning yoga .. because yoga has become a huge part of my everyday life. It’s become a lifestyle for me.
I’m back living in Mayo nearly 10 years this year … and that’s when my real yoga journey began. I started teacher training, set up Noga-Yoga and want to just share with everybody else what I get from the practice … which is a place for me to go to escape all the clutter and all the distractions of everyday life.
So, it’s a space where you can re-connect to yourself, your mind and your body. Your yoga mat should be a place where you go to find peace … and because I know that that’s possible, I want to share that with other people.
I think it’s important … I think that a lot of the time we live outside our truth and yoga is just about bringing you to yourself. It’s a journey all the way back to yourself and you’re left with you, nobody else, and you just kinda have to deal with all the things that you mightn’t like about yourself or all the things that you do like about yourself, but either way, you have to accept them all.
That’s the real journey for me. It was nothing to do with poses or the physical journey. It was like someone holding up a mirror in front of me and making me deal with all of the things that I had chosen not to deal with and that was tough at times. There were hard days and there were some pretty amazing days on that journey. But the hard days definitely brought out the best in me.
Because of that, you become connected to this energy inside of yourself and you’re living inside your body … and there’s nowhere else to live … like you’re truly present inside your body … and when that happens for you, then you can see that in other people, and you can see the want of that in other people. That’s where the teaching of yoga comes in.
Because of that connection, I found it … I found myself … if you want to be kinda corny about it. But, maybe people will find something else out of yoga, something completely different.
As for me, well I know the journey is endless and that’s exciting but I’ve met some awesome people along the way and through my studio, so I know I’m not alone.”
