Description
I chanced upon this stretch of coastline only recently. I think I may have been here before but the combination of the incoming tide, the blustery weather and the changing light made it so much more appealing. It’s lovely when all the elements come together like this and I found myself staying for “just one more shot” – it was well past sunset before I left to go home! 🙂
A .9 soft ND Graduated filter was used to darken the sky some more because i wanted the patterns created by the white surf to really stand out. I knew from the minute I arrived that this was going to be a black and white image. This is a location I hope to return to again.
On my workshops we discuss the techniques you can use to capture the landscape in dramatic black and white.
There are many simple techniques you can use in Lightroom to coax the very best of of an image when converting it to black and white, and I can show you how.
