The Dooulough valley is full of tragedy and beauty. In 1849 a large crowd of people walked through here to meet with their Landlord. Their only request was for sustenance that was denied. Of the 600 that made the journey, 400 died along the road on the way back home.
I always stop here to remember them and admire the beauty of this land.
