Description
Achill Island in county Mayo is one of my favourite places to shoot, in particular this spot! It’s Dugort strand, and every time I visit, it gives something different.
The weather was not looking good when I went there last night with Colin, but we were determined to make something of it. The conditions called on all our expertise to get the best out of what Mother Nature threw at us.
It was pretty cloudy while we were there and heavy rain showers were moving in from the Atlantic. The biggest challenge was to keep the lens and filters dry. We returned home dripping wet and covered in sand and salt but with a few nice shots.
An exposure of 25 seconds capture movement in the receding tide and clouds.
On my workshops I discuss the various techniques I use to capture the landscape in all it’s dramatic beauty.
