Description
I ventured out last week to shoot the Milky Way over Beltra Lake. It’s a nice spot for a sunset shot. However, this time I was chasing an astro photograph. The night was clear and crisp so I figured it would give good views.
It was quiet and cold when I arrived and as my eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness the number of stars in the sky grew. We are lucky here in the west of Ireland to enjoy some of the darkest skies in Europe.
On the way home I passed by this stretch of road. Something about the dips and the bend leading into the horizon caught my eye. Of course, there was nothing to see on the horizon until I exposed my the Milky Way.
In my landscape photography workshops, this could form part of a future shoot. Click for more details on my Group Workshops or my One to One Workshops.
My workshops will teach you how to work your camera, how to use all of its controls and more importantly, how to make a picture of whatever location you visit.
Photography is not about capturing awesome blood red sunsets and all the other cliches that you see online. It’s about you expressing your individuality, enjoying your hobby and capturing the world, the way you see it.
