If you’ve ever changed the lens on your camera, you may have allowed dust or dirt to get inside the body and potentially onto the camera sensor. These will show up as dark spots on your photos, especially those photos shot at smaller apertures – f16, f22, etc.
You can get your sensor professionally cleaned or if you’re feeling confident enough, you can clean it yourself. For the cost, I think it’s a safer option to get it cleaned professionally. I paid about €40 to get my Nikon D800 cleaned in Whelan Cameras in Limerick.
However, you don’t have to do this every time there is a dust spot on your photo. It’s quite easy to get rid of them in Photoshop or whatever image editing software you have.
